NYFW Autumn/ Winter 2017

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

New York is the first to kick off fashion month and it certainly didn't disappoint this season! This post is providing my favorite designers paired with my favorite looks from each show. Key trends: velvet, silky slip dresses, PINK, funky boots, suits, and classic knits & outerwear staples.

ZIMMERMANN

Zimmermann never disappoints and always stays true to their ruffled and flowing designs, but always with extravagant fabrics and colors. (Can the pink ladies have that pink shearling jacket, pretty please?)

JONATHAN SIMKHAI

BEST SHOW OF THE SEASON - I WANT IT ALL!

THE ROW

Mary-Kate and Ashley always supply cool girl minimalism for The Row with a white, black, and beige palette. Also loving the next level Dr. Martens as the footwear!

BRANDON MAXWELL

This designer caught my eye last season and continues to provide the most cutting edge looks! Fabulous collection with the mercurial disco suit coated all over in Swarovski crystals as the standout look.

NARCISCO RODRIGUEZ

This season he created silky sleek pieces that would definitely be seen in Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe once upon a time.

ULLA JOHNSON

Feminine shapes and colors with amazing knits and outerwear.

LA PERLA

The lingerie brand was inspired by 'the artistic interpretation of British gardens'.

CREATURES OF COMFORT

Loved so many looks from this show with its neutral color palette and boyish shapes with feminine fabrics and dresses. (AND A GOLD BUCKET BAG!!! YES PLEASE)

TIBI

Velvet and crazy cool boots? This show rocked!

CALVIN KLEIN COLLECTION

Raf Simmons' first collection was quite the transition from past collections but it was a success!

PRABAL GURUNG

Sheer genius

MICHAEL KORS COLLECTION

Cozy cool knits with perfect camel colored coats.

YEEZY

Season 5 may have turned me into a believer. High-rise vintage denim, hoodies, and western boots (that can all pretty much be found at a good thrift store).

CUSHNIE ET OCHS

Rich colors, rich textures at Cushnie et Ochs while 'making body-con & cut-outs look refined'.

JASON WU

Focused a lot of attention on evening wear in celebration of his 10th anniversary in business this year.

RAG & BONE

"Replaced its usual catwalk extravaganza with an exhibition of photographs" - LOVE LOVE LOVE!

MARYAM NASSIR ZADEH

Held in the basement of the Guggenheim this collection was quirky & cool.

RACHEL ZOE

Glamour, seventies, and a Le Smoking tuxedo with a glimmering edge.

SELF-PORTRAIT

Self-Portrait  is always a favorite for their feminine designs. This season however they went for a glam rock twist that was beautifully executed!

Now onto London Fashion Week... x
