May Favorites

As May is coming to an end it's time to round up my favorite products of the month!

I've been loving the five products pictured above and they are definitely new staples in my makeup bag.
1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Gilded - I found out about this thanks to a Youtube tutorial and it's even prettier in person. It looks intimidating in the tube (lots of gold glitter) but once it's on your lips it just looks like a plump sheen and no glitter can be detected!
2. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk - Leave it to Charlotte to create the perfect rosy pink that stays on for hours. (Especially paired with the pillow talk lip liner)
3. Herbivore Coco Rose Lip Conditioner - Made in the USA + not tested on animals this brand is the best and has the cutest packaging! This lightweight and deeply moisturizing balm helps to smooth and soften lips with the help of virgin coconut oil and rose absolute.
4. Kiko Liquid Eyeliner in Black - this liner is part of their summer collection and the applicator is the perfect shape to help you achieve the best winged liner.
5. Ouai Rose Hair & Body Oil - Not only does it look cute in your makeup bag but it smells delicious and leaves your hair looking healthy and shiny - in a good way.

As for fashion, this month I have been stepping out of my comfort zone and wearing COLOR! I thought I would ease myself into this by purchasing colorful accessories and that started with these pink Zara slides. I didn't think I would like them as much as I do now and I've chosen to wear these over my black shoes on almost every occasion since I've purchased them!

Another color I've been incorporating into my wardrobe is Marigold. I purchased a Brandy Melville sweatshirt in this shade and a swim suit from H&M (showcased perfectly by blogger Camille Charriere). Can't get enough of this punchy color for summer!

As for sunnies I recently purchased this pair from Zara, can we take a minute to appreciate the cute packaging, and I haven't taken them off since! Perfect for every day wear and they really elevate any outfit when you throw these on.

They recently released two new singles that are true to their classic Haim sound with even a bit more rockiness added on. They also performed them on SNL and not only were their voices on point but so were their seventies inspired ensembles. Love these girls and can't wait for the full album to come out on July 7th!

We can't talk about music this month and not mention Harry Styles and his beautiful debut album. There's a whole post on it here - so go check it out!

I highly recommend giving Girlboss a chance on Netflix if you're interested in fashion and want a look into the life of Sophia Amoruso, the creator of Nasty Gal. It's loosely based on the events of her life and how she started her online store and it's really cute and quirky and the outfits are AMAZING!

This month I have been obsessing over the entire Porter magazine editorial of Bella Hadid shot by Terry Richardson. It is the epitome of summer from the styling of swimsuits and summery white dresses to the glowing makeup. So if you haven't already go a pick up a copy of this season's Porter mag!

Cannes 2017
To me, the Cannes Festival is one of the greatest events for fashion. Unlike other celebrity events, I feel like everyone at Cannes wants to just look effortlessly glamorous and beautiful. At premieres and award shows it seems like everyone is trying to out-do each other with weird, unique looks. And yeah, I do enjoy those looks, but sometimes it's nice to see gowns that are timeless. So here are some of my fave looks from this year.

Northern California Travel Diary

This past week I traveled to Northern California and visited some favorite old spots as well as newfound treasures! If you're planning a trip to this destination soon here are a few places you definitely have to check out!

Before heading into San Fran we stopped into Treasure Island to grab amazing views of Alcatraz and the San Francisco skyline.
We parked by Ghirardelli Square for some chocolate and milkshakes, walked down to the fisherman's wharf where they have lots dining and shopping, and then ended up at Pier 39 to watch the sea lions.
Swerved down historic Lombard Street
Shopped on Union Street and went a store called Anomie that I was dying to visit! The owner has a blog and YouTube channel herself and it was amazing to finally see it in person. I purchased a gold hammered stacking ring and and Herbivore coco rose lip conditioner.
Saw the Golden Gate Bridge from above and below and even walked the entirety of it up and back!
Grabbed a coffee in the cutest little town, Sausalito, and then made our way back to the bridge to watch the sunset.

Monterey is a beautiful beach town but first I had to have my In N Out fix.
Took a visit to the Monterey Aquarium which is home to sea horses, jellyfish, sharks, penguins, and even cute little sea otters.

We took the 17 mile drive which passes through Carmel and this was one of my favorite places that I visited. Many famous actors choose to live here and I can see why! You're secluded by the ocean but have access to the cutest boutiques and restaurants.
A pit stop during the 17 mile drive is The Lone Cyprus that just sits by itself at the end of the rocks.
The beaches at Carmel are not for the faint hearted as it was around 50 degrees during the day - LAYER UP!

I stayed in San Jose and visited two main shopping areas that blew me away with their stores!
Stanford Mall was outdoors and had high-end designer stores to stores such as Free People, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and my new obsession: MUJI!
MUJI is like a japanese IKEA where they focus on decluttering, storage, cute containers, and stationary. I didn't know that they sold skincare so I picked up and few bits and they are amazing!
The Anthropologie there had a floral department, a huge home decor section, and amazing beauty brands such as RMS were featured!

Santana Row is another outdoor shopping complex that caters to both high end stores as well as reasonably priced stores such as H&M.
California is so beautiful and I can't wait to go back! x
