Jacquemus Spring + Summer 2018

Jacquemus opened Paris Fashion Week and it was an absolute dream! This collection titled 'La Bomba' was inspired by the South of France and the designer's mother. Simon Porte, the designer, keeps amazing me season after season with his fresh new ideas on the shapes of clothing and accessories. Couldn't have asked for a better way to start Paris Fashion Week!

BARELY THERE

Skimpy slip dresses, strappy sandals, and micro handbags that I'm sure Carrie Bradshaw would've packed if she was making her way to the South of France.

SHIRT DRESSING

No pants, no problem. Take a style cue from the boys and throw on an oversized shirt and dress it up with some feminine accessories!

THROWING SHADE

Block your face from the sun with these humongous hats and fake that sun kissed glow by applying Glossier's Cloud Paint in Beam. (Looks like the models have something like that applied generously onto the apple of their cheeks.)

MIDI DRESSES

I've noticed midi dresses in stores recently and it seems that this length isn't going anywhere for spring and summer either!

CASUAL NIGHT OUT

Jacquemus shows us how to not over-complicate a look by just sticking with a dress or a jumpsuit and you'll look effortlessly chic!

Blazing

Blazing
The September issues have rolled out, Fashion Month is nearing the end and the fall collections are now in stores. I couldn't be more excited about the newest trends, particularly the blazer.
The blazers---of this Fall---have a vintage feel and are a tad over-sized.
The blazer, most notably a symbol of business, is now the epitome of cool.
Bright, plaid, striped and checked--- they come in every possible design. I have a bias towards the houndstooth jackets that resemble anything Mick Jagger would've worn early in his career.
They are a piece that can really add something special to an otherwise simple, possibly boring, outfit.
Some of my fave fashionistas as well as the runways have taken to the trend.
Here's some serious suited-up inspiration.

Topshop Spring/Summer 2018

Every time London Fashion Week rolls around I'm most excited to see what the Topshop show has to offer. They are always ahead of the game when it comes to trends and their front row is spot on as well.

This season the collection was, according to show notes, inspired by Soho's heady '90s nightlife scene. The venue was located smack dab in the middle of that clubbing heartland on Charing Cross Road. The unofficial muse for the brand, Kate Moss, attended the show as she is probably the one woman who remembers those high times better than most!

The collection had a mixture of sporty elements with more sophisticated pieces.

I'm always a fan of Topshop's outerwear and this season they absolutely killed it!

Loved the looks they created for a night out on the town filled with red metallics, fishnets, snakeskin print, cat eye sunnies, and a pointed toe heel.

Pink isn't going anywhere next season as it was incorporated into so many of the looks!

The show ended with a parade of denim looks, t-shirts with each models name on them, and fluffy outerwear.

As for makeups the inspiration for this season's beauty look is leftover glamour reminiscent of the late '80s, early '90s in Soho,London. "It's lived-in makeup, the greasier the better - all created with fingers, no brushes at all."

Grungy and distressed waves are the hair style of choice this season. "Inspired by those late night girls who were out clubbing every night."

She's a Rainbow

She's a Rainbow
Fashion Month is one of the most exciting times of the year for all those fashion lovers out there. The amazing street style, a sneak-peek at next season's trends and the beautiful models are captivating. I always have so much fun going through the images from the shows each day. One day we hope the Pink Ladies will be sitting in the front row, but until then we'll admire from afar!
This season I noticed a serious dose of color. The spring is going to be bright! For those who are a little scared of color there were plenty of pastels to ease the black-and-white lovers into a bit of color.
