Resort 2019 Favorites

The fashion industry never sleeps, and the fact that the Resort collections for NEXT YEAR are out is kind of stressful... but the show must go on and this is what we have to look forward to!

Designers aren't going for the normal, jet-setting to the Maldives vibes this time around. Instead, they have made collections for the girls taking a city break or galavanting off to the rainy country-side and I'm loving each designers interpretation.

The location for the Louis Vuitton show was filled with paintings and sculptures, very artsy. The pieces in this collection were very art deco as well and the over-sized jackets were a nod to the 80s.

I turned into the actual heart eyes emoji when I saw the rain-soaked location for the Dior Resort show! (Although the rain drop stains gave me some anxiety on these stunning garments...) This collection is perfect for escaping to the English country-side and hitting up the stables thanks to the equestrian inspiration that the designer, Maria Grazia Chiuri, referenced.

I love a good runway show, but I'm also a fan of a look book when it's done in a creative way while showcasing a new collection. Valentino made wearable, seventies inspired looks consisting of silk head scarves, wide-leg denim, stacked-heel loafers, and some amazing boots with VLTN on the side.

Simple, classic, in a new and modern take. Love this collection and can't wait to recreate some of the looks!

The Best of Cannes 2018

The Cannes Film Festival has come to an end...
sadly that means so does th
e parade of beautiful gowns.
Between the film premieres and the many other events going on through out the 12-day festival, I've seen some jaw-dropping dresses.
This is one of the most exciting events for fashion lovers.
Those who attend whip out their best red carpet looks, while most of dream of heading to the south of France.

Savage x Fenty

By now we all know that there isn't anything that Rihanna can't do. Music, makeup, and now... lingerie! Savage x Fenty is a line of intimates that is fun and playful at an accessible price point. Riri created a range that includes everyday basics as well as creative pieces that you can incorporate into your wardrobe. Silk slip dresses and other lingerie bits are having a major fashion moment and I'm loving it!

The line includes bras, undies, and lingerie

How Rihanna incorporates her pieces into her looks

My favorite pieces from the collection:

Mesh and Lace Bra in the color Fairy Dust
Bandeau Bralette in Caviar
Satin Skirt in Pearl
Cami & Shorty Set in Caviar

Most of it is sold out at the moment, but when the re-stock goes down I'm all in!

Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino

After five long years, the arctic monkeys have released their sixth album. Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino has been described by the band as a "casino lounge on the moon".

The sci-fi and eerie songs are much different from their other works. It has a vintage feel too, kind of like it came out of a spooky film from the 60s or 70s.

Front man, Alex turner, put down his guitar and learned piano for this album.
I personally am a fan of their new sound. It's much like Turner's side band The Last Shadow Puppets. But I'm also a bit sad that I don't have new songs to seriously rock out to. But the change isn't really too shocking since the band slightly alters their look and sound with each new album.

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006)

Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007)

Humbug (2009)

Suck It And See (2011)

AM (2013)

Going through the albums, you can really see the changes they've made over the years.
But still, Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino has come with some controversy among fans...
some love the new sound and others have said they were disappointed the band strayed away from their edgier roots.
Give it a listen and see what YOU think!
