Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino

After five long years, the arctic monkeys have released their sixth album. Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino has been described by the band as a "casino lounge on the moon".

The sci-fi and eerie songs are much different from their other works. It has a vintage feel too, kind of like it came out of a spooky film from the 60s or 70s.

Front man, Alex turner, put down his guitar and learned piano for this album.
I personally am a fan of their new sound. It's much like Turner's side band The Last Shadow Puppets. But I'm also a bit sad that I don't have new songs to seriously rock out to. But the change isn't really too shocking since the band slightly alters their look and sound with each new album.

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006)

Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007)

Humbug (2009)

Suck It And See (2011)

AM (2013)

Going through the albums, you can really see the changes they've made over the years.
But still, Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino has come with some controversy among fans...
some love the new sound and others have said they were disappointed the band strayed away from their edgier roots.
Give it a listen and see what YOU think!
