Meet Violette. She's a makeup artist, Youtube star, Estee Lauder's Global Beauty Director and my current obsession.

She's the epitome of the effortless, cool, French girl style. I've been binge watching her Youtube tutorials for the past week. She's different from most Youtube artists because she's doesn't apply loads of makeup and try to get that "Instagram Look". Instead, Violette makes statements with her makeup and really focuses on focal points. She'll either go for a bold eye or strong lip. She's just plain cool.

Her videos are visually beautiful as well. I love the way her videos are filmed, they give a relaxed feel to them. Another way Violette sets herself apart from other makeup artists, she films her videos in different hot spots around her home in Brooklyn or Paris. So not only do you get makeup tips, but also some restaurant recommendations!

If you haven't check out her videos, I highly recommend you check them out.

New Beauty Favorites

I used to have a big problem with buying beauty products on an impulse, but after years of testing out so many products I finally know what I'm looking for and what looks good on me. Now when I'm interested in a product I read reviews, ask for testers, and watch people with similar skin tones apply the products I'm looking for on youtube. I've been using up my holy grail products and recently treated myself to some new goodies:

I picked up this shade when the pink ladies visited the Glossier showroom in NYC. Puff was next on my cloud paint wish list but I opted for Storm after testing it out. Storm is a warm rose shade that gives you a sun kissed, beachy glow!

I bought this lilah b. bronzer duo in sunkissed after Allana Davison recommended it on her Youtube channel. It gave her such a warm and healthy glow thanks to the matte and shimmery effects of this bronzer. Lilah b. embodies the philosophy of "With less, you are more" and this product is cruelty-free, vegan, and made up of natural ingredients! I bought it off of Free People but it's also sold on Sephora and Space NK.

Recently, Nordstrom was having their annual sale which included limited edition sets with colors that were only created for this event. I snatched up the Pretty Pink Lipstick set by Charlotte Tilbury which included my beloved Pillow Talk lip cheat, and two new lipstick shades in Rose Kiss and Blushing Dream. I'm completely obsessed with these shades and I've worn them everyday since receiving it! Unfortunately, the set has sold out but Pillow Talk is still available and the permanent shade Walk of Shame is similar to Rose Kiss but just a bit darker.

I've been dying to try a facial roller and I recently stumbled upon the Skin Gym one on the Free People website. I've been using it day and night to massage my face and it's too early to see any results yet but I love how relaxing it feels when I do it.

When we visited the Glossier showroom in New York I finally picked up the bottle of Glossier You, so now I have it in every form and I'm never without this heavenly scent!

Reformation is one of the coolest brands around. They carry feminine dresses and classic basics that need to be in every girl's closet.
After taking a peek in their store or scrolling through their website, you'll think 'this can't get any cooler', but they can! Reformation's clothes are all sustainable.

"We make our pieces from super sustainable materials, rescued deadstock fabrics, and repurposed vintage clothing. As we grow, our goal is to push harder to create more sustainable fabric options."

And to say "sorry", to Mother Earth, for the water they use and their carbon dioxide emissions they plant trees and invest in clean air solutions.
So they may be a bit pricey, but at least their money is being spent right!

Right now, they are currently having a blowout sale that's currently torturing my wallet.
Check out some of the pieces I've got my hands on ... and the one's I'd love to add to my wardrobe.

The September Issues You Need

September is fashion's favorite month with magazines packing twice as much content in one issue and it's also considered fashion month. (New York Fashion Week starts on September 6th!!!)
If you weren't already aware, the September Issue for a magazine is the biggest and most influential in terms of editorials and advertisements. Why? September is a period of reinvention and fresh starts as it's the end of summer. It's a big time for shopping and new wardrobes so there's an influx of adverts because brands want to showcase their new ranges for the upcoming autumn/winter season!

In the digital world, with so much free content, it's nice to pay for fashion journalism and keep these publications alive! Below I've listed some of the issues I'm going to keep an eye out for at my local Barnes & Noble, Books & Books, and even online!

POP Magazine starring Bella Hadid shot and styled by Stevie Dance.
This is on the top of my list as far as September issues go. I'm a huge fan of both Bella and Stevie so I have faith that the rest of the images from this shoot are pure gold.

This is Vogue Polska's very first September Issue with Christy Turlington gracing the cover nonetheless. It was shot by Chris Colls and styled by Julie Pelipas. I love Chris's black and white photography (follow him on insta if you don't already) and Julie is my #1 style crush at the moment and she did an amazing job on this shoot with Christy!

This issue is celebrating 20 years of Vogue Russia and it looks so cute!!
The cover stars are Russian models: Natasha Poly, Natalia Vodianova, and Irina Shayk.

The Wall Street Journal Magazine is having their tenth anniversary so they gathered together 10 models to star in 5 different covers.
The models include Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Adwoa Aboah, Imaan Hammam, Freja Beha Erichsen, Anna Ewers, Tao Okamoto, Carolyn Murphy, Andreea Diaconu, and Rianne Van Rompaey.

Last but certainly not least... Vouge Paris!!
This has to be the most iconic issue this season! With Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Christy Turlington all getting their own cover. Vogue Paris is honoring their three favorite fashion legends while also featuring models that ruled the 90s such as Claudia Schiffer and Elle Macpherson. I can't wait to get my hands on this issue!
