Last Minute Halloween Ideas

If you're anything like me then you wait until the absolute last minute when it comes to dressing up for Halloween. I have so many ideas but I never act upon them until it's too late and just end up being something basic like a cat or a devil. Here's some iconic and easy outfit ideas for Halloween night!

Mia Wallace is a fictional character in the 1994 Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction.
Her look is pretty iconic and people will definitely know who you were with a few simple pieces: a short black bob wig with bangs, a white dress shirt, deep red lip, black trousers, and some blood running from the nose if you have time for that. Image via @sophiaroe.

There's a huge 90's revival going on at the moment so a Carrie Bradshaw costume could include some pieces you already have in your wardrobe! A pink mini dress, a nameplate necklace, mini saddle bag, classy pumps, maybe some shopping bags, and a cig and martini glass in each hand. If you have a bf just have him put on a suit and he's your Mr. Big.

Another couples costume and one inspired by film would be the 1996 adaptation of Romeo + Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann. To channel Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in this movie the Juliet could wear a white dress and angel wings (if you can find them) with hair pinned half up. Romeo could wear a printed floral shirt, hold a fake gun, and it's that easy.

Lastly thanks to the help of makeup you can create amazing looks and that's your costume sorted. Just throw on a black slip dress or something simple and related to the costume and you're ready to go!

Happy Halloween!

Gel vs. Liquid

Gel vs. Liquid

was about 14-years-old when I got a little make-up tutorial from a MAC makeup artist. She taught me how to use a gel eyeliner and angle brush to line my lashes. For years, that was the only way I would ... and the only way I could do my eyeliner.

Probably within the last five years, I completely abandoned the gel pots and switched to a liquid pen.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to pull out some of my old handy gel eyeliners and my trusty angle brush and was so surprised by how easily I was able to line my eyes. Now, I also added final touches with a fine eyeliner brush, but I was so excited by how quick I was able to get the perfect flick.

So now I've been back and forth between gel and liquid... so where do you stand? Or are you a true talent and able to do eyeliner with a pencil?

All the Fluff

All the Fluff

Over the past two years, fashion has taken a step forward and many designers have decided to go fur free.

Stella Mcartney has represented humane fashion for years... now others are beginning to catch on.
The first of them, was Calvin Klein, whom dropped fur years ago. Then was Giorgio Armani who stepped away from using fur. More recently, Burberry, Gucci, Versace and Michael Kors have decided against using animals for fashion.

It's great news for all us animal and fashion lovers.... and there's really no excuse for using fur when we have the science to create artificial fabrics to keep us warm, some of which, look nearly identical.
Faux fur, is on the spotlight and fashion is switching over to it.
So now, we can enjoy fluffy coats, guilt-free.

Fashion Month Street Style

Fashion Month Street Style

Another fashion month has come and gone! Thanks to Vogue and street style photographer Phil Oh I have been flicking through street style photos from Paris, Milan, London, and New York. The pictures really help me gather inspiration on what to wear for the current season. I've rounded up some of my favorite looks and the trends I noticed while keeping an eye out for my favorite street style stars such as Sarah Harris of British Vogue and Julie Pelipas of Vogue Ukraine.

'Philophiles' is a term coined for someone that was obsessed with Phoebe Philo and her work at Celine. During Paris Fashion Week fans gathered in their favorite Celine pieces in honor of the designer as she left the fashion house last season. Key points include oversized silhouettes, menswear, and chunky knitwear.

Brown is a huge color for this fall/winter season and many incorporated the color into their outfits for fashion week.

The new minimalism includes hardly any color and simplistic silhouettes.

The puffier the sleeve and the longer the dress, the better!

Another huge trend this season, but it was mostly seen as footwear on the streets of the fashion capitals!

One of my favorite trends because I love throwing on a blazer, neutral tones, and a comfy pair of loafers!

If brown is too dull for you, go for a punchy red color to spice up your wardrobe!
