Autumn 2018 Trends

Tuesday, October 9, 2018

It's October and autumn is in full swing! Although it may not feel like it in Miami, in other parts of the world it's sweater weather and it's time to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall. Say goodbye to pastels and color and say hello to dark neutral tones, thick textures,  and animal prints. I'm always excited for the autumn dressing and this year there are five main trends:

1. CROC ACCESSORIES

Take accessories from the 90's such as a slingback heel or a small over the shoulder handbag, and add croc to it and you have this seasons must-have trend!

2. BROWN

The color brown was seen all over the runways for the A/W '18 season. Try it in small doses with a brown sweater or a handbag, or go all out in a brown coat or a full on maxi dress.

3. SNAKE SKIN PRINT

Animal print in general is a key trend this season, but snake skin is really having a moment.

4. STRAPPY HEELS

Another trend that was more popular in the 90's and early 2000's, the strappy sandal. Just watch any episode of Sex and the City and you'll see that this type of shoe was popular and now it's being portrayed in a modern way.

5. CONTRAST STITCHING

I love this trend and have my eye on a few pieces at Zara that incorporate it. It's also very subtle so it will be a good piece to have for upcoming years without going out of style!
