What's Old is New

I've always been fascinated by the past and I think it really translates into the things I wear. A lot of my clothes were once my mother's, so majority of my wardrobe isn't even from this century. As I've gotten older, my obsession with older pieces has only grown. Now I find myself wondering through antique stores looking for the oldest thing I can find.
These are some of my favorite pieces either handed down from my mother's closet, from bargaining at flea markets or just browsing antique stores.

These were once my mom's. They're from the 90s. They are one of my favorite, favorite pants that I own. They're so flattering and they remind me of something Brigitte Bardot would wear.

This next piece, I found in an antique store a couple of weeks ago. I'm not quite sure how to tell if this is actually real, but it's so pretty that I wouldn't mind if it was a faux, but this is supposedly a Givenchy Tea set... or part of a set.

It's so glamorous and just makes me feel like I'm sipping tea in an old Parisian cafe.

Not too long ago, I wondered into a bookstore that was filled with priceless, old classic novels.
I found an old collection of Edgar Allen Poe stories from the 1920's. The perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit.

I got this classic, trench at a flea market that lines Lincoln Road every other Sunday during the fall. Last year, the seller tried to convince me it was a Chloe trench. Yes, it had a Chloe tag on it, but it was a very fake looking tag. I didn't want it because it was a "Chloe" coat, I wanted it because I liked it. So I snagged it for less than $40.

And lastly, another hand-me-down from my mother. This fluffy sweater reminds me of a young Mick Jagger in his cream sweater and plaid trousers.

All photos my own or via Pinterest.
