Favorite Podcasts - Part Two

Tuesday, November 6, 2018

Last year around this time I did a round up of my favorite podcasts that you can read here. Since then I have discovered even more brilliant shows that range from weekly current affairs, self care, comedy, and sexual health. Podcasts are a great way to stay informed while doing mundane tasks around the house, while you're getting ready, and even while driving. Here are some of my top picks that I've been completely binging on:

The weekly current affairs and pop culture podcast brought to you by journalists Dolly Alderton & Pandora Sykes.

Based on the message that life is best consumed with the mix of the trivial and the political. This podcast helps me stay informed while giving me some pop culture updates at the same time. Dolly and Pandora go back and forth with witty banter and I wish every episode would go on for hours. As journalists they love to read so they also give amazing book recommendations, and on the show they do author specials where they interview an author on their most recent book launch. I'm obsessed with the High Low and I hope you check it out as well!

Gwyneth Paltrow's brand goop has editors that sit down every Thursday with provocative thinkers, industry disruptors, and culture changers.

Goop is a wellness brand and blog that started 10 years ago by Gwyneth Paltrow. Now they have expanded into clothing, skincare, a magazine, and now a podcast. Barrier breaking guests such as Oprah, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts, and Stella McCartney talk about shifting old paradigms and starting new conversations. The podcast also interviews doctors about healthy eating habits and therapists to find ways to better your state of mind. I love GP and I love Goop!

There really is no way to describe this podcast other than it is completely ridiculous and utterly hilarious.

"Imagine if your dad wrote a dirty book. Most people would try to ignore it and pretend it had never happened - but not Jamie Morton. Instead, he's decided to read it to the world in this brand new comedy podcast. With the help of his friends James Cooper and BBC Radio 1's Alice Levine, Jamie will be reading a chapter a week and discovering more about his father than he ever bargained for."
Also during the week they release "Footnotes" where they discuss topics brought up in the book and interview famous listeners such as George Ezra, Nicholas Hoult, and Ben Barnes. Good news if you're a Belinker: in 2019 their live show will become a comedy special on HBO! If you need a pick-me-up I highly recommend listening to this crazy show.

This is a podcast by Lindsey Metselaar about millenial dating in NYC.

"We live in a generation of suppressing and not expressing. This podcast touches on subjects that we don't talk about, but we all want to know about. We Met At Acme delves into sex, relationships and vulnerability, with some hilarious anecdotes along the way."
Lindsey's guests are always such a treat and they range from her personal friends, bloggers such as Danielle Bernstein, app creators, sex therapists, CEO's and so much more. I recommend this podcast if you're nosey and like to get an inside look at people's relationships and how they view them.

All podcasts are available to stream on the Podcast app on your phone and it's free!
