Hair Things

Hair things are the thing this season.

Barrettes, bows and headbands are taking their place on , and off, the runway this year.

I personally am a big fan of a messy half-up hair style with a ribbon as a final touch. It gives a very girl and Brigitte Bardot feel. Chanel's latest show featured some bows pinned into the models' waves.

I love a good hair clip and this season the bigger the better. Bedazzled barrettes and pins are making a comeback... making good hair days a bit easier to achieve.

A classic headband is a necessity. They're perfect for those lazy days and make any outfit look sophisticated and smart.

Five Favorites

These are a few of my favorite things...

The Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette  - I received this gorgeous palette from my cousin for Christmas and I haven't used anything else on my eyes since! It has 2 brown matte shades, a shimmery highlight and cranberry shade, as well as a gold glitter. It can create subtle day looks as well as dramatic evening looks and I'm obsessed!
Chanel's Rouge Allure Liquid Powder in 960 Avant Gardiste - I love following Chanel's beauty instagram, @welovecoco, and I saw them apply this shade on Jessica Biel. I couldn't stop thinking about it and finally decided to purchase and because it's a powder matte it creates the best stain effect that lasts all day.

Mango thick chain necklace - I love pairing this with a plain white tee and creating a simple statement.
Zara shell earrings - this trend has gone on for quite awhile and I'm just now jumping on the bandwagon. These are not heavy on the ear at all and I always seem to get compliments when I wear them!
Zara pearl clips - When I saw these drop on the Zara website I had to have them. They look way more expensive than they are and many designers still incorporated these on their catwalks for fall/winter 2019.

LEON'S debut album was finally released on March 1st!! I've been waiting for this forever and it didn't disappoint. Her sound is so cool and her lyrics are really something special, so if you haven't already go and check out this album!
Favorite songs off the record: Lost Time // Hope Is A Heartache // Pink

Glossier's Milky Oil - The new Glossier launch is a great micellar water that doesn't strip your skin while removing makeup.
The Ordinary's "Buffet" Serum - Most ordinary products are one ingredient that you mix to create the best routine for your skin but this serum is already packed with hydrating ingredients and I love it!
Glow Recipe's Pink Juice Moisturizer - I wear this moisturizer everyday before applying makeup and my skin is so plump afterwards (shoutout to Nikki for gifting this to me!!)

Nancy Mitford's The Pursuit of Love is a witty book about Linda and her sisters and cousin Fanny who are on the hunt for the ideal lover. I couldn't put this down and thanks to Semaine & Pandora Sykes for this recommendation.

'He was the great love of her life you know.'
'Oh dulling,' said my mother, sadly,
'One always thinks that. Every, every time.'

Chanel Fall 2019 Ready to Wear

Karl Lagerfeld’s last Chanel collection is one from a dream. A snow dream.
The beautiful collection trotted down the snow-covered runway Tuesday at the Grand Palais , turned glamorous ski resort. The icon created the perfect wardrobe for the perfect winter getaway in the mountains.

The show started with tweed, tailored coats and fedoras.

The show then transitioned more into vacation mode when the models were scene in fuzzy sweaters and snow boots.

A pop of color made an impact in leather suits, puffer coats and tweed two-pieces.

My favorite pieces are the more glamorous of the collection… the capes. Beautiful, elegant capes sauntered down the runway, collecting some of the “snow” at its edges.

The ending pieces were fit for a snow queen. All white suits, tweeds and mini skirts…. The perfect winter white pieces for a fashionable ski vacation.

Valentino Fall 2019 Ready-To-Wear
This Valentino show was ethereal and hypnotizing in the best way possible. Pierpaolo Piccioli is a down-to-earth designer that focuses on moving the house in a positive direction.
"I feel that people are looking for emotion and dreams--but not distant dreams" -PP
For this show Pierpaolo reached out to connect with cocreators 'from beyond the exclusive realms of the Roman house'. One was with Jun Takahashi as they morphed together a print of a 19th-century neoclassical sculpture of kissing lovers with a pop-punkish image of roses.
My favorite part of the show though was the inclusion of poetry on the inside and outside of the garments. Piccioli had also been hit by the resonances of the direct action Movement for the Emancipation of Poetry, which anonymously pastes lyrical lines on walls in cities around the world.
"The idea of publicly accessible poetry about love and tenderness led him to commission the Scottish poet and artist Robert Montgomery and the three young writers (Greta Bellamacina, Mustafa The Poet, and Yrsa Daley-Ward) to contribute to a slim volume, Valentino on Love, which was left on seats for the audience to pick up. An illuminated billboard with lines by Montgomery stood at the end of the runway, reading, “The people you love become ghosts inside of you and like this you keep them alive.” Piccioli showed how he’d picked lines from the anthology to be printed or embroidered inside coats, on mid-layers of tulle dresses, inside bags and boots—so that only the wearer would know they are there."
"Leave your door open for me, I might sleepwalk into your dreams."
"In your eyes I can see an eternity"
"There's a forever beyond the sky,
I think we should go there tonight."

This was such a beautiful show and I can't wait to see what future collaborations Piccioli has up his sleeve.
