Maggie Rogers

If you haven't heard the name Maggie Rogers yet, I don't know where you've been. Maggie first rose to fame in 2016 when a video of her song 'Alaska' was played to Pharrell Williams during a master class at NYU went viral. Ever since then her musical career has been on an upward trajectory.

She is from a small town in Maryland and began playing folk music at first, but after studying abroad in Paris she found a love for electronic music. She is a singer/songwriter and produces her own songs that are so original and make you want to get up and dance. I first heard Maggie in 2017 when her NPR Tiny Desk Concert was released and I've been obsessed ever since.

She's been busy on the road touring with mega acts such as Haim and Mumford + Sons.

In November she performed 'Light On' and 'Fallingwater' on SNL which caught the attention of millions. Even other artists such as John Mayer and Sam Smith were in awe of her performances.

In December she released her Spotify Singles where artists do an acoustic version of one of their own songs and a cover of another artist's song. She chose to cover Taylor Swift's 'Tim McGraw' and she really made the song her own. Even Taylor herself posted on Instagram that she loved Maggie's take on it.

This past Friday her debut album, 'Heard It In A Past Life', was released and it is a true work of art. Each song is a beautiful story and I'm so glad that this album is finally out in the world. On the album she kept her older releases such as 'Alaska' and 'On + Off' on the album, 3 singles, and 7 new songs. My favorites right now are 'Say It' and 'Back In My Body'.

In LA she performed at the Fonda Theatre where artists such as Sam Smith, Niall Horan, James Bay, Troye Sivan and many more came to celebrate her new album.

Maggie is about to start a tour that she is headlining so if she's coming to a city near you be sure to grab tickets!

Can't wait to see what the future holds for Maggie! x
